About Me

My photo

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I'm a single mum with a beautiful daughter and I started crocheting 4 years ago when I quit smoking, I'm a huge fan of the granny square and mostly spend my free time making blankets as well as occasionally trying to expand my crafty skills :-)

Apologises for not keeping up with your blogs-I've not managed to find the time to sit down with a nice cuppa and have a read through.  How are you all?  Hope that you are all well and enjoying some crafting goodness :-D

I completed the little ripple blanket for my sister's neighbour.  We posted it off yesterday afternoon and got a call today to say it had arrived!  (With all the problems we have here, at least the Postal Service isn't one of them...well, outgoing anyway, my post keeps going everywhere because of my address)

The little girl loves her new blanket-she has some health isses and has to spend quite a bit of time in hospital.  She's due for a hospital visit very soon so I'm glad the blanket arrived so quickly as she can snuggle in it while she's there.

I think I shall start calling myself the 'Random Blanketeer'.  I seem to have a thing for making surprise blankets...

  1. Hmm...A hero name... this could be interesting!
    Captain Hook
    Super Granny Square
    Wonder-Wool Woman
    The Crafty Crocheter
The Green Woolknit ( Marcus' s idea)
    Woolzilla (also Marcus)
We loved being the ones to give the blanket and enjoy all the hugs and smiles! Thank you, masked hero!

    1. I LOVE Wonder-Wool Woman! And Super Granny Square (although that one may be for very special occasions) I think angry crochet will be made by Woolzilla, Pagan Crochet will be the Crafty Crocheter and unfortunately Captain Hook is still fighting Peter Pan ;-)

Big hugs to you and all the family xxx thank you for passing the blanket along

I love the hero names that MummyCat suggested. My favorite is 'Wonder-Wool Woman'. :)

  3. Oooh - I think a superhero name is a great idea... how about Lady Yarnalot...? Maybe not superhero enough... I think you should also crochet yourself a superhero mask :-)

    1. Lady Yarnalot shall be my alter-ego when I go to medieval castles-I can stroll the castle grounds with a hook in my hand and a far away expression...

  5. Well that is one gorgeous, joyful blanket! I feel happier just looking at the rainbow colours and I hope it brings some cheer to the recipient. I'm sorry you've been feeling down lately, I do hope you are feeling brighter now. :-) x
